Spain has been for a long time highly ranked on the culinary world maps with chefs like Ferran Adria of the number 1 restaurant ‘El Bulli’ and the young chef David Muñoz with his three-star restaurant ‘Diverxo’ in Madrid.
Mallorca counts in 2015 with seven Michelin-starred chefs including Maca de Castro’s restaurant ‘El Jardin’ in Puerto Alcudia. One of our favourite Michelin star restaurants is ‘Es Fum’ from chef Rafael Sanchez in Costa d’en Blanes.

Besides visiting Michelin star restaurants it is also possible to have an elaborated lunch at a very reasonable price. In the small villages but also in the capital Palma are many fantastic three-course lunch menus offered. For example, you can enjoy a delicious lunch for only 15 Euro. This is the ultimate way to get a good impression of the cuisine of a restaurant. Forn de San Joan in Palma for instance offers a delicious lunch menu for 16 Euro and Dukes restaurant offers a menu for only 15 Euro.

One of our favourite restaurants on the island is restaurant Santi Taura in Lloseta. Perhaps Lloseta is not the most attractive village but the delicious food of chef Santi Taura and his team make up for this. Chef Santi serves typical Mallorcan dishes with a modern twist, all made with local products. Several of his students have opened up their own successful restaurants on the island like Chef Marga Coll in Selva with her restaurant ‘Miceli’. As an ecological option we recommend the restaurant Ca Na Toneta in Caimari. Here the sisters Teresa and Maria together run this great restaurant with a lovely terrace for fine evening dining.
